Its a Thursday, so this is my throwback!
This is me at somewhere between 10-12 years old.
I decided that I would do something a bit different!
If the current version of me were talking to him, he would say to him:
- Keep that smile and don’t let anyone take it from you
- You deserve to be here
- You are REALLY as good as anyone
- You are a good looking kid
- You are the prince who the pretty girls want to dance with and be with
- Yes: People do love you and…..
- Its ok to show that you love them
- Tell people how you feel
- Being strong does not mean you can’t cry
- Being strong does not mean you won’t be scared
- Being strong does not mean you don’t need help
- Being strong does not mean you can forget to be human
- Letting people get close to you is risky, but holding them at bay denies them the chance to truly love you. Let them in, its worth the risk
- Its ok to be angry
- Its ok to be sad
- Its ok to want to be alone for a while
- People aren’t afraid of you
- People don’t think you are strange
- Your mom loves you
- Your dad loves you
- Your sister loves you
- Your family loves you
- Your community needs you
- You were given a lot of gifts: You are strong, you are smart: Use the gifts God gave you!
- The strength you were given is not just to serve YOU, but to serve your community and your family, this is how God intended for you to use it!
- You are NOT alone
- You cannot be replaced
- You are NECESSARY
- You are a MAN!
You are Gods creation and you are unique and special.
If you think you are not special, or think you are just ordinary remember this: Through out the history of the world there has never been anyone JUST like you and there will never be anyone JUST like you ever again. Some may look a bit like you, maybe talk a bit like you, but they are NOT You!
You were meant to be here, at this time, at this place and you have a purpose!
Find that purpose and make sure that it shows up in the world!
